Is London Road Brighton going down the pan?

I was there last week and noticed that Pound-stretcher had lots of sparsely filled shelves and a couple of other shops too.

Following the demise of Woolworth's I think there could be a snowball effect, what do you think?

What does anyone know?

I think that London road has never been the best of areas anyway. I agree that the area has been lacking new products- Pound land closed down as well earlier. However I think this is more to do with the general credit crunch rather than the demise of Woolworths.

It's also a shame that the church is closing. I'm not religious but it seems an integral part of the London road area.
